What is Distance Education?

Distance education is when the student can appear for exams but they are not physically present to attend regular classes. Distance education has generated fabulous pleasure equally inside and outside advanced education. It offers the potential to provide learning to new audiences; for others, it offers the opportunity fundamentally to transform learning delivery and the competitive world.

Distance education is not only for young aspiring students, but also for many working professionals, housewives, school drop and etc. Distance education is the obvious solution for those who are just plain lazy, financial constraints and any kind of impediment! Whether you live in a metropolis city like Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai or in a small town tucked in any part of India, you can advantage greatly from Distance Education.

The quality of distance education courses depends on the student’s level of motivation. Some students–notably those in Groups A, B, and C–do not seem to grasp the concept of a self-paced course; that is, they had trouble understanding that they had to access the material, do the assignments, think about the information, and ask questions of the instructor via e-mail. It seems pointless for students without that skill set to attempt these courses. That they enroll anyway suggests that their primary motivation lies in the perception that Web-based courses offer an easy way to get university credit.
